My entrée to painting began with works on paper. As I expanded my drawing to
incorporate mixed media, I became especially intrigued with ink washes. The entire process of choosing the right paper to match my medium of choice began my love affair with textures. I particularly enjoy the subtlety of ink washes emphasized with bold charcoal marks.
I continue to capture my thoughts and ideas with ink drawings bound in a sketchbook format. Very often I refer to these drawings as inspiration for larger paintings.
